<B>1892-S S$1 AU58 PCGS.</B></I> The grade-price curve of the 1892-S takes off like a Sputnik in the higher AU and Mint State grades, as lower-grade pieces are quite common, but near-Mint State and truly Uncirculated pieces are quite elusive, and see huge demand from the hordes of Morgan dollar collectors. The present example is quite close to full Mint State, showing just the lightest rub on the obverse highpoints and a bit of clouding of the still-considerable field luster. The surfaces are brilliant and distraction-free, with good eye appeal.
