<B>1892-S $10 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> During the 1890s, gold production at the San Francisco mint favored the double eagle denomination at the expense of the half eagle and eagle. This issue's mintage of 115,500 pieces is not particularly noteworthy among the smaller S-mint ten dollar pieces, but high demand meant that virtually all would enter circulation. Those that did survive in Mint State are most often heavily abraded and grade MS62 at best. This satiny representative is not without scattered surface marks, but is clearly a notch above what is normally located.
