1892-O$1> MS65 PCGS. Wayne Miller noted that a bag of 1,000 1892-O Morgan dollars emerged in 1977, included in which were many sharply struck Gems. That was a significant find for the numismatic community, because the 1892-O is one of the most poorly produced issues in this series. Most Mint State survivors are flatly struck in the centers with no hair definition over Liberty's ear or feathers on the eagle's breast. Also, luster quality for this issue tends to be deficient. With that said, we now turn our attention to this extraordinary '92-O dollar. The strike is remarkably sharp with very little lack of definition in the centers. Both sides are drenched in vibrant mint luster that is nicely frosted in texture and shows just a hint of pale golden color. The combination of these two features, as well as the appreciable lack of bagmarks, suggests that this coin may have emerged from the above-mentioned bag. Worthy of inclusion in the finest Morgan dollar collection.
