1892<50C> PR68 PCGS. Rich forest-green, rose-gold, and lilac toning endows this magnificent silver proof type coin. Even prolonged evaluation with a strong loupe fails to locate even the slightest abrasion. The strike is exquisite, particularly on the fletchings and the right shield corner. The reverse is nicely die doubled, particularly on HALF DOLLAR. Several doubled die varieties are known on quarters and half dollars of this date. First year Morgan dollars are often die doubled, because several slightly different hubs were in use. Perhaps this is also the reason for some of the doubled dies found on first year Barber coinage.
