<B>1892 50C PR65 PCGS.</B></I> Walter Breen (1977), writing about the 1892 proof half dollars, says they were "Hoarded as first year of issue but not to such a large extent as the quarters." The Gem offered in this lot displays wisps of iridescent aqua-green, crimson, light blue, and golden-tan coloration resting in the fields and in the recesses of the design elements. An excellent strike, as befits a proof impression. A few wispy marks are visible under magnification in the fields.
