<B>1891 S$1 PR63 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> Of the 1891 proof dollar, David Bowers (1993) writes that "The situation of flat-struck proof coins begun in 1888--coins with lightness of strike above Miss Liberty's ear ... and on the eagle's breast feathers ... was continued." While the hair over the ear is not fully brought up, it still displays some definition, and the breast feathers are crisply delineated. The cameo contrast is delightful, and whispers of lavender, cobalt-blue, and golden-tan make occasional visits to the border areas. Close examination reveals no mentionable abrasions, but wispy hairlines are intermixed with die polish lines on the cheek and neck, and some barely discernible hairlines are noted in the fields.
