This variety is distinguished by its clashed obverse die, repunching of the 8 and 9 in the date, and extra metal within the mintmark that makes the O take on the appearance of the Greek letter <I>theta.</B></I> Even those without an interest in the fine points of Seated dime varieties should take notice of the strongly lustrous and practically untoned surfaces of this detailed piece.
