<B>1891-CC S$1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> VAM-3. A Top 100 Variety. The so-called "Spitting Eagle." For the Carson City dollars struck between 1881 and 1885, a large percentage of the original mintage emerged from the GSA hoard in Mint State grades. Not so for the CC-mint dollars struck between 1889 and 1893, since these are comparatively scarce, especially in Gem condition. This crisply struck example possesses exemplary fields, and only a few inconsequential marks are on the face.
