<B>1891-CC $5 MS62 NGC.</B></I> The 1891-CC, with a mintage of 208,000 pieces, is the most common half eagle from the Carson City Mint. The MS62 specimen offered here exhibits lustrous yellow-gold surfaces and sharply impressed design features. Several small contact marks, characteristic of this issue, define the grade. In this regard, Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth (2006) write: "Many coins of this issue were probably shipped long distances, as most are heavily bagmarked."
