1891-CC $10 MS64 PCGS. The Carson City Mint produced nearly 300,000 gold eagles during its years of operation from 1870 to 1893. The specific total was 299,778 coins, and 35% of those were dated 1891. The total mintage of this issue was 103,732 coins, more than the total of the next four highest mintage issues combined. This issue has its parallel with the 1847-O issue. Both of these coins are among the most common dates of their respective series, and both are extreme rarities in Choice or Gem quality.
