<B>1891 25C PR67 NGC.</B></I> Ex: P. Kaufman. Briggs 1-A. This coin is far better struck than often seen for examples of this final-year proof delivery. The obverse stars are all crisp with full centrils, and the letters in the reverse legend do not reveal any evidence of die crumbling. More or less even cobalt-blue rim accents frame richly toned, reddish-copper centers. The central obverse is lighter than that on the reverse with more of an apricot-orange appearance. The fields shimmer with modest, yet appreciable reflectivity as the coin rotates under a lamp, and neither side reveals a single distracting blemish. Perfect for Superb Gem type purposes.
