1890s MSU Agriculture Building Architect Drawing
For your consideration is this architectural drawing for Montana State University's Agricultural College done by J. C. Davlsen circa 1890s. When the building was first constructed in 1893, the campus and lone building were named the Agricultural College of the State of Montana. Later, it became the Montana College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts, or more commonly known as the Montana Agricultural College or MAC. Today, the building is known as the Montana Hall and is a staple of the Montana State University campus and its history. The architectural drawing is done by J.C. Davlsen and shows the rear elevation of the hall. The top right of the drawing reads, "Montana State / Agricultural College / Bozeman, Mont. / J.C. Davlsen Architect", while the bottom middle reads, "Rear Elevation, Scale 1/8 inch = 1 foot". The drawing shows good condition with no signs of obvious damage and slight wear from its antique age. The drawing measures 15 7/8" L x 20" W.
