1890s, Brunswick - Balke - Collender Co. "Los Angeles" model saloon Front and Back Bar. Two Full, Life-size Nude Women support columns in the center. Beautiful 24 foot back bar, 11 Feet Tall and 22 1/2 inches deep. The Front bar is 24 feet long, 44 inches Tall and 29 inches Deep. Quartersawn Oak of which there is only one known. There are 4 Mahogany ones that we know of. This back bar was the original one in the Andrew Wilson's Saloon, Norwich CT. The saloon is the oldest, continuously operating Bar in the State of CT. Operating since 1890s. The bar operated during Prohibition as a Speakeasy. It is documented that it was raided during Prohibition and fined $10,000.00. The License Ledger from 1890s through Prohibition and actual licenses are available from the owner's private collection. Major Rock Stars; Stevie Ray Vaughn, Matt Guitar Murphy of the Blues Brothers, members of Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers and the band Blue Oyster Cult; Legendary Folk and Jazz musicians, Neil Young, Dave Van Ronk, New Riders of the Purple Sage, have drank at the bar and performed in the saloon. In addition, The bar itself is also featured in the movie "Everybody Wins" starring Nick Nolte and Deborah Winger. The bar will be sold in place.
