This classy 1890 Victorian gentleman's rocker is a beautiful example of the golden age of wicker.

Continuous serpentine rolled collar, arms and front. Fancy hand caned back panel floats inside latticework, anchored by 4 large curlycues. Note the design change from upper to lower corners. The overall effect is geometric yet delicate. Cane wrapped frame and legs are finished off with curlycue front skirt. Square woven seat would accept a cushion without interfering with the design. This chair balances nicely with the other wicker items on our site from the same Kensett, Iowa, estate. It has been used lightly and should provide many future years of enjoyment and comfort.
