<B>1890 S$1 MS66 PCGS.</B></I> The 1890 is a common coin in lower grades. Many bags were released in the 1950s and 1960s, but high grade pieces are extremely rare. In MS66 only five pieces have been certified at PCGS and NGC, and this is the only PCGS MS66 (3/07). The present example has exceptional, brilliant luster and a solid strike for this issue, which typically has dull luster and some striking weakness. In fact, the striking definition on this piece is comparable to dollars struck 10 years earlier. The surfaces are virtually unmarked with the cheek of Liberty smooth and no noticeable marks in the fields.
