This is an antique 1890 Elgin gold inlaid pocket watch. The pocket watch is 116 grade, size 18S and features a coin silver case that is marked "Fahys Coin No. 1". The movement is marked "B.W. Raymond". The face is marked "Elgin Natl. Watch Co.". The back cover of the case shows an inlaid gold elk. The pocket watch came from the estate of descendants of Charles W. Chowning. According to the family, the pocket watch belonged to Chowning who was business partners with William Ennis, founder of Ennis, Montana. This is a fantastic piece of Montana history. The pocket watch is in good condition. It is in working condition and keeps time well. The watch measures 2.25" in diameter.
