<B>1890-CC $5 MS61 Prooflike NGC.</B></I> While the 1890-CC half eagle ranks among the best-produced issues from the Carson City Mint, most such pieces are frosty and slightly granular. This green-tinged amber-gold representative starkly contrasts with the norm. Each side has distinct and practically uninterrupted reflectivity, with the reverse mirrors slightly more flashy than those of the obverse. The centers display a degree of softness, particularly on the eagle's neck, and the fields have numerous tiny marks and abrasions, but the overall eye appeal is irrepressible. A great coin that seems destined for a specialist's collection.
