1890-CC $10 MS63 NGC. The 1891-CC is the usually encountered Mint State Carson City eagle. The 1890-CC is perhaps 10 times scarcer, and examples with full luster and without noticeable abrasions are rare. As of (5/07), NGC and PCGS combined have certified 20 pieces in MS63 with one finer, but those figures almost certainly include a number of duplicate submissions, since only a single MS63 has ever appeared in a Heritage auction, back in May 2003. (Heritage auctioned the sole certified MS64 for $80,500 in June 2006.) This well struck yellow-gold eagle has pleasing eye appeal for the MS63 level. A little-known fact about the 1890-CC is that IN GOD WE TRUST is die doubled toward the upper rim on all examples seen. That one reverse die was used comes as little surprise, given that only 17,500 pieces were struck.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
