Despite this, the issue is very common in Mint State. The MS66 example offered in this lot displays bright, near-white lustrous surfaces that have been lovingly preserved. Just a few minor scuffs on Liberty's cheek, and in the left obverse and right reverse fields, are mentioned for accuracy. The design elements are generally well impressed. The only exception is softness in the hair over Liberty's ear and on the eagle's breast, which is typical for this series in which most examples are weakly struck at the centers.
From The Leslie E.
