1889-O S$1 MS65 PCGS. Despite a mintage of close to 12 million pieces, the 1889-O is a conditional rarity at the MS65 level. The issue is notorious for mushy strikes. In 1993, Q. David Bowers wrote in his silver dollar encyclopedia, "Most 1889-O Morgan dollars are poorly struck, with dull or unsatisfactory lustre, and many have bagmarks." Although the strike on the present piece is incomplete in the centers, it is superior to most seen, and in addition has lustrous, clean surfaces with only a hint of chestnut toning.
From The Cocoa Beach Collection.

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
