1889-CC S$1 MS63 PCGS.
1889-CC S$1 MS63 PCGS. While the 1889-CC has an impressively low mintage with only 350,000 pieces struck, it does not have the lowest production run among Carson City dollars. However, the 1889-CC was not set aside in the GSA hoards that were dispersed in the 1970s (except for a single coin). This is a highly lustrous example that is brilliant throughout. The fields show a bit of semi-reflectivity, as usually seen on this issue, and there are very few obvious marks that account for the grade. The only noticeable flaws are a tiny abrasion along the jawline of Liberty and another midway down the front of the neck. Close examination with a magnifier shows a few very shallow slide marks across the face of Liberty, but all in all this is a lovely example of this key to the Morgan series and a coin that presents even finer than its designated grade. Population: 72 in 63, 21 finer (10/03). Important notice: Heritage usually auctions material at the rate of 200-250 lots per hour. On some occasions eBay Live bid software or the Internet may not be able to keep up with the pace of the auction. We recommend placing a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Occasionally the auctioneer may eliminate or reject an eBay Live bid, and the auctioneer may also reopen a lot after the close of the eBay live bidding (usually because we missed an audience bid), and may reject your bid even if it shows you as the winning bidder. By bidding via eBay Live, you agree that Heritage may award the lot to another bidder at its sole discretion under the circumstances described above or any other reasonable circumstances. Also please note that all Heritage lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions before you bid.
