1889-CC S$1 MS63 NGC. Ex: Richmond Collection. While the 1889-CC has an impressively low mintage with only 350,000 pieces struck, it does not have the lowest production run among Carson City Dollars. However, the 1889-CC was not set aside in the GSA hoards that were dispersed in the 1970s (except for a single coin). This is a highly lustrous example that is brilliant throughout. The fields show a bit of semi-reflectivity, as usually seen on this issue, and there are very few obvious marks that account for the grade. The only noticeable flaws are a tiny abrasion on Liberty's cheek and another in the right reverse field. Close examination with a magnifier shows a few very minor marks in the left obverse field, but all in all, this is a lovely example of this key to the Morgan series and a coin that presents even finer than its designated grade. Census: 48 in 63, 43 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
