<B>1889-CC $1 AU55 NGC.</B></I> Staff writer Paul Green, writing about the 1889-CC Morgan dollar in a recent issue of <I>Numismatic News</B></I>, says: "Some Carson City Morgan dollars are not that tough, as they were found in original bags in the Treasury vaults in the mid 1960s and sold to collectors. The 1889-CC, however, was one example not found in those bags." A narrow ribbon of orange-gold toning rings portions of the borders on both sides of this Choice AU specimen, and is joined on the obverse by whispers of cobalt-blue and lavender. Traces of luster are visible in the protected areas, and nice detail characterizes the design elements. Some small contact marks are noted on the obverse.<BR><BR><B>Coin Engraver:</B> George T.
