<B>1889 $1 MS65 PCGS.</B></I> In 1993, Dave Bowers estimated that there were 5,000 to 10,000 1889 Morgan dollars in existence, at the Gem level of preservation. So far, however, fewer than 3,000 such coins have been certified through the combined efforts of NGC and PCGS, as of (10/07).
