<B>1888-O $1 Doubled Die Obverse AU55 PCGS.</B></I> Ex: Leroy Van Allen. VAM-4. Hot Lips. A Top 100 Dollar. The <B>plate coin</B></I> for VAM-4 in all editions of the <I>VAM book,</B></I> but also the first major Morgan die variety found by Van Allen. After reading Francis Klaes' 1963 pamphlet, <I>Die Varieties of Morgan Sivler Dollars, </B></I>Van Allen found the present piece in a bag of 1,000 mixed dates obtained from a bank in 1963. This "Hot Lips" dollar has been kissed by a trace of highpoint wear, but the still brilliant silver surfaces retain nearly full luster.
