Comprises: 1.) Double-sided 16mo card with recto headed "Under Which Flag?" and verso headed "England is for Free Trade, but here is one Englishman who is not," pub. The Republican League of The United States, New York, N.Y., circa 1888. Each side contains text with anti-Cleveland, pro-Harrison sentiments. 2.) Double-sided 16mo card with recto headed "Regular Democratic Nominations" above a British territorial flag, W.H. Thomas & Son, New York, N.Y., circa 1888. Verso is boldly headed "England Desires Harrison's Defeat." Both sides contain text satirizing Cleveland trade policy. 3.) 32mo clipped newsprint cartoon titled "The Delegates to Cleveland." Depicts a well dressed man sitting on train reading a paper with bold text "Political Taffy Nominee" captioned at bottom "Going - Fixed." 4.) Folio broadside with New York Tribune masthead and date "Sunday Edition, Nov. 4, 1888." Bears headline "The British Lion's Paw Thrust Into American Politics To Help Cleveland" and contains a facsimile of a letter written by Baron Sackville urging Americans of British decent to support Cleveland's policies. 5.) Small folio broadside boldly titled "The Whole Story in a Nutshell!," Yale Publishing, New York, N.Y., 1888. Sheet is divided into halves, one titled Harrison's Ideas! / Republican Platform of 1888" the other half titled "Cleveland's Ideas! / Fruits of 'Free Wool Message,' 'Mill's Bill' and General Democratic Policy." Contains maps of the United States illustrating prosperity with Harrison's policies and ruination with Cleveland as well as British dominance.
