<B>1888 $5 PR64 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> Mint records indicate that 94 proof half eagles were coined in 1888, and less than half of those survive, perhaps 40 coins. While some survivors are finer than this example, it is an attractive piece with rich yellow-gold luster and excellent contrast. A few small blemishes appear in the obverse field, especially below Liberty's chin. The reverse is free of contact marks.
