<B>1888 $3 MS65 NGC.</B></I> A beautiful Gem example with satiny surfaces, rich orange-gold luster, and a sharp strike. It is one of a mere 5,000 business strikes minted in the next-to-last year of production for this series. Most examples of this date were not put into circulation, and many were saved in Mint State grades, however, at the MS65 level this issue is anything but common. Several small abrasions are present in the obverse fields, and are mentioned, not because they are overly distracting, but because of the fact that without them, this piece would certainly warrant a grade higher. A beautiful example for the type collector or specialist in the series, and certain to attract many bidders.
