<B>1888 $1 PR64 NGC.</B></I> The 832 proof Morgan dollars of 1888 were distributed as the highest-denomination pieces in government sets of minor proof silver. Of the survivors known today, few have such a distinctive appearance as this immensely appealing Choice proof. Warm rose patina graces the portrait and eagle, while the fields exhibit dusky violet and blue toning. Well-defined overall, though the hair above the ear is a trifle soft, and mildly reflective beneath the rich patina. A handful of faint, scattered hairlines define the grade.
