<B>1887-S $20 MS63 PCGS.</B></I> After a one-year hiatus in S-mint double eagle production, a comparatively modest mintage of 283,000 pieces was issued in 1887. These were the only business strike twenties coined this year at any of the four mints. As with other San Francisco issues from the decade, a fairly generous supply of Uncirculated coins is available for the 21st century collector. A normal propensity for abrasions keeps the vast majority of these well down the Mint State ladder. Field marks on this satiny, well defined example are generally light and unobtrusive. Only a hairline blemish above star 1 merits individual mention.
