<B>1887 S$1 MS67 NGC.</B></I> David Bowers (2006) writes that: "In Mint State grades the 1887 is the commonest silver dollar dated prior to 1921." The census/population figures corroborate Bowers' assessment, as tens of thousands have been certified through MS66. The MS67 population drops precipitously, however, and anything finer is virtually unobtainable. This Superb Gem displays dazzling luster and adequately struck motifs.
