<B>1887-S $1 MS64 Deep Mirror Prooflike NGC.</B></I> Bowers, in his book <I>Silver Dollars and Trade Dollars of the United States,</B></I> writes that '87-S prooflikes are usually one-sided, obverse only. He also notes that MS64 DMPL coins are rare, and higher grades are extremely rare. The near-Gem example presently offered features gorgeous, deep mirrors over each side that provide a strong contrast with the motifs. The surfaces are well preserved, with just a few minor luster grazes apparent on Liberty's cheek.
