<B>1887 James Naismith Signed Cabinet Photograph & McGill University Pennant.</B></I> Early studio portrait pictures Naismith in scholarly robes, striking a dignified pose. Verso offers inscription that reads, "James Naismith, Grad. McGill 1887," though a portion of removed tape has eliminated the center portion of the text, and contrast against the black background is poor. Despite these factors the ink that remains is a technical 9/10. Photo measures 4x6.5". Red silk pennant with white felt "McGill" lettering shows moderate damage but makes a fine companion piece.
