<B>1887 G$1 PR67 Cameo PCGS.</B></I> The proof mintage exceeded 1,000 pieces for the fourth straight year, a good indication of the popularity of coin collecting at that time. Many of the 1,043 pieces struck still survive today, although most examples are in lower quality than this piece. It is a Superb Gem proof that exhibits deeply mirrored yellow-gold fields around frosty lighter yellow devices. A tiny spot is visible between the U and N of UNITED, and this appears to be the only pedigree marker on either side.
