1887<G$1> MS67 PCGS. The 1887 is another low mintage issue from the 1880s with only 7,500 pieces struck. This piece must have been from a later state of the dies as it does not show any evidence of the prooflikeness that is often seen on this date. Sharply struck, the surfaces are smooth overall with the soft, frosted mint luster that is commonly seen on well-produced coins from the Philadelphia Mint. The medium yellow-gold surfaces are virtually abrasion-free with the only noticeable mark that could be useful for pedigree purposes being a tiny abrasion below the base of Liberty's bust. Population: 21 in 67, none are finer (4/06).
