<B>1887 50C PR66 PCGS.</B></I> Dramatic orange, plum-red, and emerald-green dominate this nicely struck Premium Gem. All of the subsidiary silver denominations experienced limited mintages during the 1880s as all the mints concentrated on the production of Morgan dollars. In 1887, only 5,000 business strikes were produced, one of the lowest mintages of the decade. As a result, considerable demand has been placed on surviving high grade proofs. Only 710 such coins were originally minted in 1887.
