1887 1C PR64 Red PCGS. In December 2002, the 1887 had a lower PCGS-certified population in Red than any other proof Indian Cent with the exception of the 1886 Type Two (this per Ron Sirna in Longacre's Ledger). We doubt that this relative rarity has changed since PCGS reports only 25 proof 1887 Cents in all grades with full Red luster (1/03). The otherwise cherry-red sheen of this near-Gem reveals splashes of golden-orange color in select areas toward the borders. There is a little bit of haziness inside 8 o'clock on the reverse rim, as well as a few trivial obverse flecks, but the eye appeal alone would seem to warrant a full Gem rating. Sharply impressed in virtually all areas. From the Colburn Collection. Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour. On occasion eBay live bid software cannot keep up with the pace of the auctions where 4-5 lots per minute can hammer down, so we recommend that you place a realistic absentee bid now as insurance to avoid disappointment. Also please note that all Heritage/CAA lots purchased through eBay Live carry a 20% Buyer's Premium. Please make sure you read the Terms and Conditions.
