1887 1C MS66 Red PCGS. Richard Snow writes in his Guide Book of Flying Eagle and Indian Head Cents that: "Cents of 1887 circulated widely and are usually found in medium circulated grades. They are more readily available than dates with similar mintages in the earlier 1880s." This tends to be reflected in the population data. In full red, however, better Mint State coins become more challenging. PCGS and NGC have seen fewer than 75 Gems with this color designation, and less than 20 pieces finer.
The MS66 Red specimen offered here displays impeccably preserved copper-gold surfaces that emit pleasing luster. A powerful strike on the design elements results in crisp definition on all four diamonds and on the head feathers. Housed in a first generation PCGS holder. Population: 13 in 66 Red, 2 finer (11/06).

Shipping: Coin/Currency (view shipping information)
