The 1886-O is plentiful in Fine to VF, but is difficult to find in Mint State, and emerges as a spectacular rarity at the MS65 level. A high-end MS64, such as the present lot, is a desirable substitute for the nearly uncollectible MS65. This lustrous and highly attractive near-Gem exhibits occasional faint grazes, but noticeable bagmarks are absent. An opportunity for the alert specialist.
