1886-O $1 MS64 PCGS. A delightful presentation in regards to both strike and luster, two qualities that are usually compromised on this difficult issue. The untoned, silvery surfaces offer radiant cartwheel luster that is nearly unparalleled for an 1886-O in this cataloger's experience, and the frosty surfaces are undisturbed aside from an inconspicuous group of faint marks above the bust tip. The strike boldly articulates the feathers on the eagle's breast, and only the hair above the ear shows the usual weakness. Some light, undistracting roller marks appear on Liberty's jawline. PCGS has graded only three pieces finer than this attractive example (1/08).
From The Oxford Collection.

Coin Engraver: George T.
