1886-O $1 AU58 PCGS. This lightly circulated O-mint displays a much better-than-average strike for what is usually a weakly struck issue. In particular, good definition shows in the hair over Liberty's ear. The expected number of light marks are visible on surfaces that retain ample luster and display speckles of light tan-gray color on the reverse. Probably 6 to 8 million of the 10.7 million pieces minted were melted (Bowers, 2006).

Coin Engraver: George T.
