Collection of letters on headed paper of the Irish Loyal and Patriotic Union, the Ulster Liberal Unionist Association, the National Radical Union and House of Commons. Most relating to the 1886 Government of Ireland Bill. Including, replies from Joseph Chamberlain to unionist concerns about government policy. Letters from Glasgow MP, John Wilson, relating to his own voting intentions and a large meeting of Liberals headed by Chamberlain with the result of a decision to vote against the bill, describing that it "will likely lead to rejection of the Bills and possibly a dissolution of parliament, so that stormy political times are before this country". Also letters relating to the foundation of Chamberlain's National Radical Union. (28 items)
