<B>1886<5C> MS65 NGC.</B></I> This is one of the three key dates in the Liberty nickel series, and it is far scarcer in Uncirculated condition than as a proof. A lovely Gem, the surfaces are highly lustrous with deep olive toning in the fields and golden accents on the devices. Faint die striations occur on each side, but troublesome contact marks are absent. Only striking weakness on the obverse stars and the lower reverse wreath details prevent an even loftier grade assessment. A superior example of this important issue. Census: 22 in 65, 3 finer (9/06).
