<B>1886 50C PR64 PCGS.</B></I> Strong field-motif contrast is evident on both the obverse and reverse of this near-Gem. Delicate aqua-blue patina dominates the obverse, imbued with hints of beige-gold. Cobalt-blue gravitates to the reverse margin, turning to wisps of purple and finally to gold-tan at the center. A well executed strike brings out sharp detail on the design features, adding to the coin's eye appeal. A couple of minute obverse marks, and light hairlines in the obverse fields preclude full Gem status.
