1885-S S$1 MS66 PCGS. Ex: Jackson Hole. What a coin! Intense, beaming luster radiates from each side of this phenomenally beautiful and conditionally elusive silver dollar. Completely untoned and silver-white, this piece appears to have been kept from an MS67 grade only by a single tick on Liberty's chin and one on the eagle's breast. Regardless, it is quite high-end for the grade, and among the most beautiful dollars aesthetically that this cataloger has described in this incredibly fine silver dollar collection, even if it is not among the top examples from a numeric standpoint. Elsewhere the surfaces appear pristine, with moderate field-device contrast and outstanding eye appeal. Bowers calls this issue "medium-scarce," but in so high a grade it is decidedly rare! PCGS has certified two coins finer (2/07).
From The Jackson Hole Collection.

Shipping: Coins & Currency (view shipping information)
