<B>1885-S $5 MS65 NGC.</B></I> Slightly more than 1 million of these were minted, a substantial gold mintage at the time. Those that survive are generally in the lowest Mint State levels with an average certified grade of 61.7 as recorded by Jeff Garrett and Ron Guth. A gorgeous Gem with satin luster and a sharp strike, both sides have amazing salmon toning over pleasing yellow color.
