1885-S 10C MS63 PCGS. While the 1856-S, 1858-S, and 1859-S are scarcer in the finer circulated and Mint State grades, the 1885-S is the rarest San Francisco Mint Seated Dime in terms of total number of coins known. The present survivor exhibits sharp striking definition from rim to rim. There are remarkably few abrasions for the MS63 grade level, but the mostly silver-gray surfaces do reveal a few tiny ticks here and there. Suggestions of pale golden-champagne tinting are evident at direct angles. All 1885-S Dimes were impressed from a single pair of dies. Population: 1 in 63, there are just three finer (10/02). Important notice: We expect to be auctioning lots at the rate of 200-250 per hour.
