<B>1885-CC S$1 MS67 NGC.</B></I> The low mintage of 228,000 pieces is always of interest to Morgan collectors, even though the vast majority of known examples are in Uncirculated condition. Circulated coins were so seldom seen in the early days of dollar collecting that the '85-CC exceeded the 1893-S as the key to the series. Of course, thousands of examples subsequently were released from government holdings and today it is a relatively available CC dollar in mint condition. Few, however, are the equal to this coin. Fully and intricately struck, the surfaces are bright white and show the thick mint frost one expects from a Carson City dollar.
