1885<10C> MS65 PCGS. Fortin-106. A relatively available date, but nevertheless elusive in MS65 and above. This wonderful Gem features nearly white, frosty surfaces with faint touches of tan and glowing underlying luster. The design elements are generally well impressed throughout; even Liberty's head reveals nice definition, which on this issue is often weak. One tiny mark appears on Liberty's upper right thigh, and another on the right elbow, but neither stand out or are distracting. The remaining surfaces are very well preserved. This is a coin with tremendous overall eye appeal. A mint-made die lump at 5 o'clock on the reverse is unreported in the Fortin reference. Population: 34 in 65, 28 finer (3/05).
From The Tim Cook Collection of Liberty Seated Dimes.
