<B>1884 S$1 PR67 Cameo NGC.</B></I> The white-on-black contrast is obvious and seamless. This essentially brilliant Superb Gem is void of hairlines. The strike is exquisite, even on the curls above Liberty's ear, which are sometimes blunt on proofs. Perusal beneath a loupe fails to locate any grade-limiting marks or spots. The appearance is the same today as when the piece first fell from the dies more than 120 years ago. Although business strike production exceeded 14 million pieces, just 875 proofs were issued, and most are clustered in PR62 to PR65 grades.
